  Commander              Richard Gross

                 7:00 PM

NEW MEETING TIME

    Comrades, hopefully, this new meeting time will allow everyone to meet and get back home at a more reasonable hour of the night. We will see how it works and go from there.

  On February 17th,  the Commanders, Presidents and Quartermasters Dinner will be held at the Wishing Well Party House. All of you have received a notice with your Reservation forms and Ad Blanks, so don’t wait to long to respond.

   The Diner will be Buffet Style including Steamship Round of Beef and one other meat, vegetables and dessert. The tickets are $25 per person including gratuity.

   Well, it’s Buddy Poppy time again. Please order your poppies now. If you wait to long, you may not receive them in time for your poppy drive in the month of May. Remember, as one of the requirements for All State Commander, you must purchase at least 500 poppies from the Department of New York. Filling out and sending in all your reports, Trustees, 2 Community Activity Reports should be included

   Membership for the county is doing very well,  there are 7 posts that need from 1 to 4 members to reach 100%. So, have your membership Chairman get on the phone now, don’t wait until the last minute. You may find out that they need help in paying their dues, Hey, you never know until you ask.

   The Voice of Democracy Program for the Department of New York is over and the State winner is from District 2 and 2nd place went to District 8, Danielle Wolber, from Fairport High School. Thanks again to Chairman, Mike Lucci and Auxiliary Chairperson, Claudia Allevato for a job well done. Give State Chairman, George Whitfield a pat on the back when you see him.

    VFW Post #16, Thomas F. Healy is doing an outstanding job on the Life Membership Program. They took the list of At-Large members in the state and wrote them a letter asking them to sign up with their post as life members. The results were great. They signed up 22 new members, thanks to Tony, Hy, Frank and Don for all the work that went into this undertaking. I know as a result of their hard work that they will be an All State Post and may be in the running for All American. Good work guys.

   The Legislative Conference will be in Albany in February. Hope to see as many of you as possible there.

   Thanks to all that responded to the call to pay their District dues. It will allow the County and the District to vote the  full strength of each post that is in good standing.

Sincerely;

Richard
